TEDxAldeburgh

During the last few days, Aldeburgh has been playing host to TEDx. This year it contained Ambisonic materials from Tod Macover (http://www.media.mit.edu/people/tod) which included live audio as well as pre-recorded playback. The whole thing was mixed into Ambisonics on the fly by Tod. According to those in attendance – there were lasers. I’m not entirely sure this helps the study of Ambisonics but it certainly makes things look awesome.

Anyways, Sound on Sound have reviewed it (including a notable mention for Peter Gregson!) Article here : http://www.soundonsound.com/news?NewsID=13350

Official TEDxAldeburgh side is over at http://www.tedxaldeburgh.com/

{EDIT}
I just found this use of Binaural recording / realtime manipulation. Looks like a fantastic game! To quote them, it does look “bloody hard”..
